August 17th, 2020 Activity Report Good afternoon Bulldog student-athletes, parents, and spectators. In order to keep everyone on the same page and keep communication flowing, I will be sending out an activity report on Friday mornings each week for the upcoming week. These activity reports will be sent to all staff via email, posted on our St. Ignatius Public Schools app, and posted on Facebook each Friday morning. For example, when an activity report comes out on August 21st, it will be in regards to the week of August 24th-29th. This is the first installment of this and we will work together to make sure your questions are covered. I will address many things including typical game information such as who we are playing, location, and start times, Covid-19 updates, and results from the previous week. Covid-19 Updates Due to Covid-19, there have been some restrictions on crowd sizes. This directly impacts school athletic events. One of the main reasons I am sending these weekly updates out is to inform the community about if they can attend and if they can’t, how they can watch the event. We will be able to Facebook live all events if the host school does not have a streaming device available. Mission High School is currently in the process of getting a Pixelot camera for the gym and the football field to stream our competition through the NFHS Network. The Western B Athletic Directors, applicable to volleyball and cross country, decided to not allow visiting team fans at this time. Each visiting team will be given five admin/media passes. We will have conversations between admin, coaches, and senior parent athletes about who is going to receive those passes. We feel that senior athlete parents should receive first dibs on those passes so they can watch their child’s final season. When we distribute those passes, it is the responsibility of the pass recipient to stream the game to our school’s Facebook page and to maintain updates on the score. The Western C-8 Man coaches and ADs met as well and each school is deciding on whether or not to let visiting fans into events. Mission High School will be allowing visiting teams’ fans to attend our games. They must wear a mask upon entry but can remove their mask if social distancing is attainable. Sport Updates Middle school football, high school football, volleyball, and cross country start on August 14th while middle school volleyball and cross country start on the first day of school. Students are required to wear masks as they enter the building, in the locker rooms, and during practice when appropriate. Our gaiter style masks should be here next week and each student-athlete will receive one at no cost. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to email, text, or call. Announcement:  We have made some changes to our monthly board meeting protocols.  We have added speakers to the board room so that anyone online can follow the meeting discussion.  The only questions that can be asked during a board meeting will be questions related to agenda items and typed into the chat and recorded by a designated person of the district, who will then ask the questions during discussion.  Any questions can be asked by calling or stopping by the district office anytime during working hours.  If you feel your question is imperative to be asked you will need to attend the meeting to make sure you have your opportunity.  We have tested the speakers and they work great.  Thank you-
